Biography

Isaac was born on December 7, 1857 in the Utah Territories. He is the third child of Isaac Riddle and Mary Ann Levi. He was probably born somewhere near Ogden, Utah. He would have been born on a 50 acre farm owned by Isaac Riddle but within the year, his father would sell the farm and invest in a sawmill probably in Pine Valley, Utah. The 1860 census shows him living in Pine Valley long with his father, mother, grandmother, sister and a young man from Georgia named Jackson Curley.[1] His father was away much between business and his mission for the LDS church with the Indians in Southern Utah, so much of his time growing up would have been spent with his mother and his sister Mary Ann.

In 1867, his older sister, Mary Ann Riddle died leaving him the oldest living child.[2]

Isaac like his father was convicted of polygamy in the Utah courts in 1890-91.[3]

Isaac died on September 24, 1943 in Escalante, Utah.[4] He is buried at Escalante Cemetery in Garfield County, Utah.[5]

Spouse: Nancy Russell; married 10 Apr 1877, St. George, Washington County, Utah.

Spouse: Clara Maria Berry; married 8 Jan 1886, Logan, Cache County, Utah.

Riddle-1991 and Riddle-1580 appear to represent the same person because: They have the same wife Nancy.
