Biography

Isaac was born in 1828. Isaac Riddle ... He passed away in 1903, he took his two nephew's and one niece in after their father William passed away and mother that had passed away shortly after, the information I have seen doesn't mention the mother of these children, Isaac Riddle and Hannah Longstreet Blackstone Riddle went and got and raised them to adults, Luther Blackstone; est.b. 1870, Richard Blackston; est. b. 1872, and Alice Blackston est. b. 1875, the father of these children William Luther Blackstone was in the Confederate Army and had got wounded and passed before 1880, Isaac and Hannah were baptized in 7/5/1856, five (5) years after they married.  Her parents were married in 1831. They owned a 15,000 acre plantation in Georgia, with one hundred fifty to three hundred slaves.  One of the parents was one-half Cherokee or Creek Indian.  They had a large family.  Her father and four of his sons died serving the Confederacy in the Civil War.  They were buried in unmarked graves.  One son, William Luther Blackstone, received seven bullet wounds.  Eventually he recovered enough to go to Titus County, TX.  He married Huladah Saunders and they had three children, the ones mentioned above but both parents died two weeks apart in 1880.
