Biography
Steve Martonak states that according to the estate papers of William Ridge, Kiziah was not William Ridge's daughter, was never married to Jabez Jarvis and that his only wife was a woman named Elizabeth. The papers further state that Rezia Jarvis is the son of Jabez Jarvis, but that is the only mention of that relationship. There is also a deed from 1798 that mentions Elizabeth as the wife of Jabez Jarvis. [1]
Elizabeth was born in 1730. She passed away in 1830.
Disputed Parents
Keziah is not the daughter of William Ridge and Winnifred Combs. Winnifred was born on 14 May 1749 in Overwharton Parish, Stafford County, Virginia. Her six children are well documented in the estate file of her first husband, William Ridge. They are: Mary, Elizabeth, Sythe, William, Thomas, and Winneford; all born between about 1770 and 1780 when their father William was killed.[2] Since Keziah is reported to have been born in 1732, she is being removed as a daughter of William Ridge and Winnifred Combs.
