Biography

Ardath Fern Riley was born January 16, 1909 in Kansas City, Jackson, Missouri, United States.^[1] She was a daughter of Roy Edwin Riley and Mayme Alice Clark.^[1][2]

In the early 1900s the Riley family moved to Richland, Montana where Ardath went to school.

Ardath graduated from Fairview High School on May 4, 1927. Her cousin Flora Noteboom was in her graduating class.

She enjoyed drawing, writing poetry and horses. She had many newspaper clippings of poems and kept many of her own written poems and drawings. She also had a fairly large collection of pictures of family and friends while growing up.

After finishing high school she moved to Los Angeles, California and met Doy James Taylor.

Marriage

On May 18, 1929 Ardath married Doy James Taylor in Los Angeles, California, Unites States.^[3] Together they had six children:^[4]

In the 1930s, the Taylor family lived in Gardena, Los Angeles, California.^[4] By 1940 they moved to El Monte, Los Angeles, California. ^[5]

2nd Marriage

On October 7, 1950 she married Omar Leon Heironimus in Orange, California, United States.^[6] Together they had a daughter, Susan Marie.

Death

Ardath Fern Riley Taylor Heironimus died in her sleep from a stroke on October 14, 1977 in in Torrance, Los Angeles, California, United States with her son, Don at her side.^[7][8] She was cremated and her ashes were spread in the sea by Don.^[9][10]
