Charles Roberts (son of Henry Roberts and Elizabeth Russell) was born 1730 in Craven, North Carolina, and died August 26, 1788 in Orange, North Carolina. He married Mary Langston on 1750 in Orange, North Carolina. His father was Henry Roberts, b. Abt 1700, Fairfax County Viginia d. Nov 1763, Craven County North Carolina. His mother was Elizabeth Russell,who was born about 1700, North Carolina and died about 1768, Culpepper Virginia. Married about 1717 in Craven County North Carolina.

Charles Roberts was living in the Hillsborough District of North Carolina in the early 1780s. Charles signed a petition asking for mercy for Thomas Hunt who was under sentence of death for horse stealing
