Biography

Christopher was born about 1723 in Virginia to John Robinson and Tabitha Jones . [1] He purchased 185 acres in St. James Parish of what was then Goochland County, Virginia from his father for £50 on 18 July 1743. [2]

Christopher married Sarah Nichols about 1749 in probably Caroline County, Virginia. They were the parents of eight children. These children were Drucilla, Molly, Elizabeth, Phoebe, Sarah, Agness, Jesse, and George. [3] Cumberland County charged Christopher on two tithables in 1759. [4]

In 1767, Christopher purchased land along Black Walnut Creek in Halifax County, near his father in law John Nichols. [5] It appears that Christopher and his family did not settle on this land until after November 1777. [6] Christopher was head of a household of five whites and six blacks in Halifax County in 1782. Four whites were in his household in 1785 and his property was comprised of a 24' by 16' log dwelling house, barn, kitchen, and five cabins. [7]

Christopher died in Halifax County, Virginia sometime after his will was written on 3 January 1789 and 27 June 1791 when it was proven in court. According to a Chancery Court case in Halifax County , Christopher did not answer a summons to appear for a bill of injunction that was issued for him on 27 March 1789. The summons was returned by the sheriff with no inhabitant marked on the back of the document. It is possible then that Christopher died just a few months after his will was written. [8]

Robertson-12261 and Robertson-875 appear to represent the same person because: Same parents, spouse and children. Same basic dates. Please take a look and if you agree they are meant to be the same person, please merge them.
Data problem: If Christopher Robertson died in 1791 how could he have served in the War of 1812?

Not possible to have served in Civil War in 1861.

What is TOPI marriage listed as a source?
Robertson-5947 and Robertson-875 appear to represent the same person because: Just started at Wikitree today. My information has a different birthyear for this profile which I have not personally verified; however, there are numerous links to other people's gedcoms at My Heritage that list 1833.
