Obituary

Travis E. Robinson, Jr., 60, left his earthly home and entered his Heavenly home on July 1, 2003.

Travis was born in Flatonia, Texas, but lived most of his life in Abilene, graduating from Abilene High School in 1960 before attending McMurry University. He was also a Dale Carnegie graduate. He had a long career working in grocery management and operations, beginning as a fourteen year old sacker and going on to be Senior Vice President in charge of operations for James Parker and the Super Duper Food Stores. Travis married Lucy Kay Peak, December 17, 1965. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. His commitment to his God and his family were of the utmost importance. When Super Duper sold in 1986, he became the Assistant District Manager for the Furr's chain until 1991. In 1991 he began working at Toys ‘R' Us where he became the Store Director. Then in 2002, wanting to get his real estate license, he went to school and began working for Senter Realtors where he was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for 2002.

Travis was involved in many Abilene organizations. He was a past president of the Chamber of Commerce Red Coat Committee, past member of the Abilene Goodwill Board, Kiwanis Club of Abilene, and Better Business Bureau Board member. He was presently a member of the Abilene Board of Realtors, the Senter Realtor Team, and board member of Biblical Faith Ministries.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Travis and Lucinda Robinson; by a brother-in-law, Tommy Wagoner; and by a brother-in- law, David Runnels.

Survivors include his wife, Lucy Kay Peak Robinson of the home; and his three sons, Kory Gee and Shannon Robinson of Abilene, Perry Spence & Stacey Robinson of Lubbock, and Ashley Heath Robinson of Abilene. He and his wife were the proud Poppy and Mimi for their four grandchildren, Alexis Mae Robinson, 6, of Lubbock; Campbell Reed Robinson, 4, of Abilene; Parker Spence Robinson, 2, of Lubbock; and Landry Kate Robinson, 4 months, of Abilene. Also surviving are his sister and her husband, Barbara and Tom Knoy of Cedar Hill; father and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Elbert G. Peak of Abilene; sister-in-law, Gay Peak Runnels of Abilene; brother-in-law, Sam Peak and his wife Brenda of Abilene; best friends, Mickey and Jackie Redwine and their family and the James M. and Cynthia Parker family; along with several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Travis will be so missed by his family, but we know Heaven is his home and he is at peace with his Lord.
