PLEASANT GROVE CEMETERY ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- ------ Pleasant Grove Cemetery is located Camden County, MO., at the end of State Route U, six miles southeast of Macks Creek. According to several sources, the first person buried there was a negro hobo and former slave who came to the Thomas Meads home and worked for his lodging. Thomas Meads paid for his burial and donated the ground for the cemetery. James Whitworth paid for the cemetery deed to be made. If there is a "*" before the name, remember it is a moved grave and you might want to check out the Osage River Project.
