Biography

George Rogers was born on 11 Jun 1721 in Dunkirk, Virginia to parents John Rogers and Mary Byrd. He married first Mary Ann Lee in 1740 in Fauquier, Virginia. [1]

He married second Frances Holmes Pollard in Jul 1754 in Virginia. Children: Joseph, John, Lucy, Edmund P, Ann, Thomas, Frances, Mary, Mildred. He died on 13 Mar 1802 in Caroline, Virginia.

George is uncle and namesake of General George Rogers Clark.

William Froggett, a Revolutionary War Veteran, William Froggett lived in the George Rogers household in Caroline County, Virginia; they cared for him in his latter years until his death. (Froggett had served under son John Rogers during the war.)
