He had six siblings, namely: Harriet, Lillian Esther, Ivy May, Norman Roy, Dorothy Amy, and Edward Harry Winkworth. He died on 28 Jul 1997 in Parkes, New South Wales, Australia. When he was 35, He married Dorothy May Archdeacon,daughter of Christopher Archdeacon and Maria Taylor, on 12 Apr 1941 in Katoomba, New South Wales, Australia.
