Nikolaus (Rollman) Rohlmann has German Roots.

Nikolaus Rollman/Rohlmann was born about 1796 in Grimm, Russia, to parents Michael (Rollman) Rohlmann and Eva Maria (Seibel) Folmer. His mother was the widow of Karl Volmer/Folmer, and he had six half-siblings by his mother and her first husband.

1798 Grimm Census [1]

Family # 41
Head of the Household Michael Rollman, age 33, from Dietel
Wife Eva Maria Seibel, age 41

Child #5 Johann Adam Follmer/Volmer, age 9
Child #6 Katharina Margaretha Follmer/Volmer, age 19
Child #7 Anna Barbara Follmer/Volmer, age 6

By the time of the 1834 census, Nikolaus' father had passed away, but his widow was still living. She was named Anna Margaretha, while Nikolaus' mother, gleaned from the 1798 census was named Eva Maria. Ergo, Eva Maria passed away before 1834. Nikolaus is their only child documented in a census record. If Eva Maria and Michael Rollman had other children, they were probably females who were married and living in other households by 1834. Nikolaus' step-mother Anna Margaretha became the head of the household that included Nikolaus, his wife and children, and Nikolaus' half-niece, the daughter of his half-brother Heinrich Volmer who died in 1828.
