Biography

Micah Rood was a son of Thomas Rood, born in February 1653 in Norwich, Connecticut.[1] He is the son of Thomas Rood and Sarah Lefingwell. [2][3]

Micah Rood and the widow Sarah Daynes were married in Norwich on 15 January 1691.[4][5][6][7]

Children born at Norwich, Connecticut, to Micah Rood and his wife Sarah were:[4]

  1. Mary Roode, born 22 May 1693. [8] [9]
  2. Micah Rood, born 29 April 1696.[10][11]
  3. Joseph Rood, born 14 December 1698 [12][13]

Micah died abt Dec 17 1728 in Norwich, Connecticut. [14]

I found an interesting story about Micah while researching one of my ancestors. Don't know if you ever heard of the story. I am putting a link to it here. The story is called "The Curse of Micah Rood's Apples". Feel free to add it to his biography if you feel it is appropriate. I for one would consider a story about my ancestor to be worthy of being part of his profile. My ancestral great grandpa, Jacob Hyde, dug the grave for Micah and is mentioned in the story as well.
