Edward Arthur Rose was born on 10 December 1882 at McDowell Co., West Virginia, USA.[1] He appeared on the census of 9 June 1900 in the household of his parents, Arthur Wellington Rose and Mary Jane Luthia Clower, at 25 Rail Road Ave., Bluefield, Mercer Co., West Virginia. [2]
He married Mary Etta Christian, daughter of Mark Christian and Cary C. (--?--), on 28 December 1904 at Grapevine, Virginia.[3]
He was a yard master for the railroad when he and Mary Etta appeared on the census of 19 April 1910 at East River, Mercer Co., West Virginia. [4] He and Mary Etta appeared on the census of 7 January 1920 at East River, Mercer Co., West Virginia.[5] He was a conductor for a railroad when he and Mary appeared on the census of 12 April 1930 at State Route 67, Barkers Ridge, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.[6]
He was a yard conductor in 1942 for the Virginian Railway, Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia.[1]
He retired from the Virginian Railway.[7]
He died on 27 Dec 1960 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia, USA, at age 78 and was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia. His memorial has a copy of his death certificate and a picture of his headstone.[7]
