Research Notes

Back in 2017 I had added a link to a Family Search profile, though now that profile has been changed to represent an Ezekiel Rose (17 July 1705 – 9 August 1768).

Original Link:

Which is listed as a "deleted profile" on Family Search and redirects to:

Though it seems that they are of two different "Rose" families with the Roes being Dutch and the Ezekiel Rose family being English / Scottish.

The current Family Search profile to match this WikiTree profile is:

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

So on Family Search, it has the father of Johannis as Andrew Rose, then his father listed as Andreas Roos and then his father is listed as:

WikiTree contributors, "Gerrit Janszen Roos (abt.1630-1698)," WikiTree: The Free Family Tree, (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Roos-11 : accessed 12 November 2022).

Which matches:

"Gerrit Jansen Roosa." Family Search. Accessed Nov. 12th, 2022. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LH6M-51T.

Though the WikiTree profile for Gerrit does not mention a son Andreas, though it has other children mentioned. So more research needed to see if Andreas Roos is a correct son of Gerrit Jansen Roosa.

Catherine Ault listed as his wife was born after he died. Needs to be researched more, possibly a bad connection.

Rose-8563 and Rose-8265 appear to represent the same person because: Typical given name conversion; same birth location and year; same child(ren).
