Ralph was a Major in the 5th British Regiment of Foot and was stationed in Canada, his commission dated 31 May 1784.[1][2] He married Archange Baby on 23 February 1791 at Detroit.[1][2]
In 1802, he returned to Ireland and received an inheritance from his grandmother. He established his home in Quebec in 1804.
Ralph and Archange did not have any children.[1][2] Ralph died on 5 December 1822 and was buried in Quebec, where he was the Town Major. He was buried beside his brother-in-law, Thomas Allison, who had died about a month earlier.[2][3]
