Biography

Ephraim Rowley served during the French and Indian War.
1776 Project
Ephraim Rowley served with 12th Regiment, Connecticut Militia during the American Revolution.

Ephraim was born 17 Oct 1737, son of Elnathan Rowley and Lidia Welles[1]. He participated in the French and Indian War between 1755 and 1762 in 12th Connecticut Regiment out of Colchester, Connecticut.[2]

He married Peggy Lilie 8 Nov 1787[3] and they had at least one known child Erastus Rowley[4].

Sergeant Ephraim Rowley served in the American Revolution where he died 9 Aug 1782. [5]

  • Find Barber Collection reference for birth of Erastus Rowley. Further check for other children of Ephraim.
  • Find NARA reference of participation in French-Indian War.
  • Find Patterson-Pattison Family Association Book No. 1 and determine the unit that Sergeant Ephraim Rowley was in based on his apparent commanding officer Eleazer Patterson.

Rowley-455 and Rowley-456 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same person according to all info except Rowley-455 having died at the age of 100. Possibly Rowley-455 is the son of Rowley-456, if so , the dates and parents of Rowley-455 need changed.
