Nancy Rutledge was the daughter of Peter Rutledge and Miriam Sandford. She was born about 1797. Nancy married Nugent Matthews, 3 November 1814, in Harrison County, Kentucky. Nancy had 8 known children; Lewis, Thomas, Amanda, Jackson, Newgent, Lucinda, and George.
