Genevieve "Marie" Samson was born on May 13, 1725 in Lauzon, Québec, New France. She was the daughter of Joseph Samson and Catherine "Marie Catherine" Guay.

Genevieve married Etienne Begin on November 23, 1751 in Lauzon, Québec, New France. They continued to reside in Québec, New France where they raised their family. Genevieve and Etienne had the following children: Marie-Genevieve b. July 1, 1752; Etienne-Marie b. July 1, 1754; Marie-Anne b. June 21, 1755; Charles b. February 26, 1757; Veronique b. May 16, 1758; Marie-Charlotte b. September 8, 1762.

Genevieve died on September 8, 1762 in Lauzon, Québec, New France due to complications during childbirth.
