Biography

Burial in Elias Sanders Cemetery on his homeplace on the hill above Nolin United Baptist Church in Edmonson County, Kentucky near Briar Creek. [1]
Elias Sanders professed religion and was baptized in the fall of 1849 and became a member of the Nolin United Baptist Church to which he belonged until the day of his death. He was an elder in the church. He was pastor of the Nolin Church from 1869 with some few years excepted until 1896. He was a minister of the Gospel for about 37 years. His last words were "watch and pray lest ye enter into temptation. (This information was obtained from the obituary of Elias Sanders found in the 1899 minutes of the Green River Association of United Baptists, which also listed his full date of birth and full date of death.)
