Sands went on hunger strike on the 1st March 1981. Bobby Sands of the Anti H Block Party was elected as the M.P. for Fermanagh and South Tyrone on the 9th April 1881,[1] while imprisoned in H.M. Maze.Sands died on the 5th May 1981 after sixty-six days on hunger strike. Vol. Bobby Sands was buried in Milltown Cemetery, Belfast.[2]
