Elizabeth “Betsy” Sappington, the daughter of John Sappington and Jemima Fowler. was born 2 Jan 1789 Maryland, United States. She died 3 July 1849 (aged 60) in Missouri United States and was buried at Sappington Cemetery in Crestwood, St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. [1]

Elizabeth died in 1849, and is buried in Sappington Cemetery, Crestwood, St. Louis County, Missouri. She shares a headstone with her husband. During the cholera scourge of 1849, Elizabeth's husband visited a sick friend in the city, and a few days after was attacked with that disease and died on the 9th. Elizabeth was also taken ill, and died on the 3d, their daughter, Mrs. Dr. Charles Brown, on the 10th, and their son's wife, Mrs. H. S. Long, on the 14th of July, 1849.[2]
