Will of Thomas Sasser, 26 December 1821

State of Georgia. Know al men by these presents, that I Thomas Sasser for the good will, love & affection that I have & do bear unto my beloved wife, Clary Sasser, do Scriven County. give & bequeath unto her, my beloved wife, the House & out Houses where my present dwelling now is, together with the tract of land on which they now stand, and the adjoining lands containing five hundred acres (500) One Negro girl named Fillis, likewise the Household & kitchen furniture & farming utensils, together with the hogs, sheep & cattle and a certain brown bay mare during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease or widowhood the above mentioned furniture, including cattle, hogs, sheep and brown mare, to be sold and the money arising to be equally divided amongst Thomas Sasser, Howell Sasser, John Sasser, Everitt Sasser, Clary Sasser, Sarah Sasser, William Sasser, Sabra Sasser & Littleton Sasser. The above named Negro girl Fillis at the decease of my wife or widowhood is to be hired out together with her increase during the minority of the above named Littleton Sasser & the money arising there from shall go equally to the above heirs equally during their none age, and as soon as the above named Littleton shall become twenty-one, then the girl Fillis with her increase shall be sold at twelve months credit and the money arising therefrom equally divided amongst all the above named heirs; For the good will I have for my beloved son Bryant Sasser I do give & bequeath to him Ninety (90) acres of land being a part of the survey of Britton Sasser, the said land, shall not extend further eastward than the flat branch & south part of said survey & adjoining said Bryant Sassers lands. I also give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Two hundred and fifty (250) acres of land being one half of a survey of five hundred acres surveyed for Thomas Sasser which said part laying west of said Survey and adjoining lands surveyed for David Cooper & Ethreldred Faircloth. I also give & bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary Two hundred and twenty two acres being the land where she now resides. Also I give and bequeath unto my beloved son Thomas one bay mare and one hundred acres of land being an undivided tract surveyed for Richard Oglesby; I give & bequeath unto my son Howell five hundred acres of land, two hundred and fifty of which was surveyed for Henry Bryant and the other two hundred & fifty acres being a part of the lands surveyed for Richard Oglesby, all adjoining and one bay horse colt; I give & bequeath unto my beloved son John five hundred acres of land with the improvements being a part of a tract surveyed for James Boyet, Senr. & Stephen Boyet, Junr. Also I give & bequeath unto my beloved son Everitt five hundred acres of land, three hundred of which was surveyed for Aaron Ham, also two hundred acres of land it being part of two surveyed for Maj. Music & Stephen Boyet; I give & bequeath unto my beloved son William five hundred acres of land including the plantation surveyed for William Clifton & laying on Big Horse Creek, including the big fish hole, which land at the decease or widowhood of my beloved Clary is to be rented out & and the money arising therefrom to be equally divided amongst the minor heirs, the above land to be rented during said William's none age: Also I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter Clary two hundred & fifty acres of land, being a part of the land surveyed for Thomas Sasser & adjoining & adjoining lands of James Pollock & James Parker; I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughters Sarah & Sabra six hundred acres of land in different surveys, one tract containing two hundred acres surveyed for Richard Oglesby on Little Ogeechee, three hundred & thirty six acres surveyed for Charlotte Bell adjoining lands of John Hill & Stephen Boyet and sixty four acres being a part of a tract surveyed for said Stephen Boyet ---- It is furthermore my desire & wish that at the decease or widowhood of my wife Clary, that the tract of land whereon my buildings now stand and I now reside containing (500) five hundred acres adjoining do go to my beloved son Littleton, which land is to be rented out after the decease or widowhood of my beloved wife & the money arising to be equally divided among the minor heirs for their support & education, the above land only to be rented during the none age of said Littleton .
