Countess Beatrice Savoie was born before 1205[1] and died January 4 1267.[2]
Beatrice (Savoie) was Countess consort of Provence by her marriage to Ramon Berenger IV, Count of Provence. Beatrice was the tenth of fourteen children. [3]
Beatrice of Savoy's mother, Margaret was betrothed to Philip II of France. Margaret was on her way to France for her wedding, when she was kidnapped by Beatrice's father, Thomas. He took Margaret to Savoie and proceeded to marry her himself. Thomas justified his actions claiming Phillip was already married. [4]
