Isaac was born in 1780 to James Scarborough and Grace King, his father's first of four wives. Grace died when Isaac was 5. From following census records, it seems Isaac married twice, though his first wife's name is unknown. He married Nancy Barnes, a widow with eight children, in 1848, and had two children with her when he was 69 and 73. He died in 1857 at 77 years old, and his will is shown in the photos.
