- Name: Jacob /Schaeffer/, b. 1693, appears to have been the third son of his father Jacob Schaeffer and under Germanic naming conventions of the time would be named after his father. His son Jacob, b. 1729, also appears to be the third son.

Research Notes
This person (b. ~1693) should not be confused with his younger brother, who was named similarly as Johann Jacob, born 20 Oct 1704. Henry Z. Jones notes, "it was common in this time-frame to have children baptized with similar names, i.e., Jacob and Johann Jacob." [8]
Perhaps a few of the entries on Governor Hunter's subsistence lists are attributed to this Jacob (the son), rather than Jacob the father.[9]

Schaeffer-375 and Schaeffer-370 do not represent the same person because: If Schaeffer-375 is the guy from Baltimore (as named in the "source" attached to his profile, then he is different from Schaeffer-370. I will update -375 with more info and sources. He should be detached from his parents--hopefully we can find some of his descendants on Wiktree and connect Jacob -375 to them
Schaeffer-375 and Schaeffer-370 appear to represent the same person because: Suspect that as the birth place is clearly wrong on Schaeffer-375, the birth date is probably wrong as well. I would disregard the unsourced birth date & place on Schaeffer-375 and merge this profile into Schaeffer-370.
