Waldon Paul "Wally" Schauer was born on Saturday, July 24, 1920, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. His parents were Paul Alfred Schauer (Saturday, July 13, 1889 - Tuesday, August 30, 1960) and Lillian McCullem Schauer (Monday, May 27, 1891 - Tuesday, July 27, 1982). His father was an accountant, a profession which Wally entered. Wally grew up in Chicago. In 1941 moved west with his parents to Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California. He was an only child.
On Monday, July 20, 1942, in Sacramento, California Wally enlisted as a private in the U.S. Army. His occupation category read tinsmith, coppersmith, and sheet metal worker. At the time Wally was 5 ft. 10 in., 161 lbs.
In the 1949 Pasadena City Directory Waldon was single, living at home as an accountant. From 1954 to 1962 Pasadena City Directories have Waldon listed as an office manager for the Marking Methods Company in San Gabriel, California. The firm specialized in permanent industrial marking. They provided laser marking job shop services, electro chemical metal marking equipment, dot pen and other permanent marking services. He was living with his mother.
On Friday, May 2, 1980, at the age of fifty-nine Wally married Louise Caroline Marble Rinn (Friday, April 1, 1921 - Monday, December 6, 2004) in Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada. Louise was also fifty-nine years old.
Wally passed away at the age of sixty-six on Friday, May 15, 1987, in Pasadena, Los Angeles County, California.
