Biography

It is doubtful that Catharina was born in Tulpehocken, PA. Her siblings of this age were born in NY. Susanne (Maria?) Catarine Schauer/Shaffer was born 1723 in Pennsylvania. She married Johann Heinrich/John Henry Frey in 1743. They had 10 known children Catarine died in 1796. The Will of Johann Michael Schauer names two daughters, one Catharina, and another Maria Catharina. The daughter whose married name is Frey is identified in Find a Grave as Maria Catharine Schauer Frey.
