MRS. WIESE DIES IN DAUGHTER'S HOME

DeWitt--Mrs. Carolyn [sic-Caroline] Wiese, 82, died about 11:30 p.m. Saturday in the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Peters, at Miles.

The body reposes in the McGinnis funeral home, DeWitt, and funeral services will be held there at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Elmwood cemetery.

Carolyn [sic-Caroline] Schroeder was born Oct. 31, 1856 in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She came to America at the age of 14. On Nov. 1, 1865 [sic-September 4, 1877], she was married to Henry Wiese in Maquoketa. He died Aug. 26, 1912 [sic-September 6, 1912].

Surviving are two sons, Henry of Clinton, Ben of East Moline, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. William Peters [Bertha], Miles, and Mrs. Floyd Graves [Amelia], Baldwin; one step-daughter, Mrs. Henry Luett [Eda], Baldwin; 46 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren. Three daughters [sic-Two daughters and one step-daughter], Mrs. John Duemong [Lizzie], Catherine [sic-Katherine] Wiese, and Mrs. August Luett [Dora], preceded her in death.
