Biography

After Catherine's house was burned during the Revolutionary War (see Adam Young), she was taken prisoner and confined to Tice's Tavern in Johnstown, New York, along with her daughter in law, Catherine Young, and her grandchildren. They remained there until sometime later that year or the following year when they were part of a prisoner exchange.

As a widow, Catherine suffered from blindness for some time before she died. She was cared for by her son, Daniel.

Catherine is buried in the Smith Family Cemetery in Glanford Township, Wentworth County, Ontario.
