Biography

Birth

Linda was born on January 22, 1883 in Pleasant Mound, MN to William Schwarz and Amelia (Luedtke) Schwarz. She was the third of their 7 children.[1]


Family

On December 15, 1904, at the age of 21, Linda married John Fortman (1883-1975) in Wheaton, MN. [2][3]

Death

On April 18, 1981, at the age of 98, Linda passed away in Nelson, NE. She is buried in Saint John Lutheran Cemetery in Wheaton, MN.[4]

Linda Mathilda Schwarz was born January 22, 1883, to William and Emelia Schwarz in Amboy, Minnesota. She passed away April 18, 1981, at the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson, Nebraska, at the age of 98 years, 2 months and 27 days.

Linda was baptized February 8, 1883. She confirmed her Christian faith April 3, 1898. She was a member of the Centennial Lutheran Church of Superior. She attended Christian Day School at Willow Creek, Minnesota. She and her family moved to Wheaton, Minnesota, in 1900.

December 15, 1904, Linda was united in marriage to John A. Fortman at Wheaton, Minnesota, where they lived until 1909, when they moved to Canada. In 1920, they moved to Nelson, where they lived for 11 years, then to Colorado. Mrs. Fortman retired in 1963, then lived with her daughters.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, John; a son, Walter; a grandson, Dale Thielman; two brothers, Louis and Paul Schwarz; and three sisters: Lillie, Sophia, and Lydia. Survivors include 3 daughters, 3 sons, 11 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Burial was April 23, at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Wheaton, Minnesota.
