Biography

Ada was an illegitimate daughter of William the Lion, King of Scots, and an unknown mistress.[1][2] The date of her birth is unknown.

In 1184 she married Patrick Dunbar, 5th earl of Dunbar and justiciary of Lothian.[1][2] [3][4] There were at least four children from this marriage:

Ada, Countess of Dunbar, died in 1200.[1][2][7] Her husband remarried, before 1208, Christian Fitz Walter, the widow of William de Brus.[1][4]

Until reliable sources have been provided which indicate that Ada and Patrick Dunbar ever had a second daughter named Agnes, Agnes is being detached from this profile.
