Biography

Born to Rev. James Scott & Sarah Brown[1] in Virginia, or Maryland but probably Westwood Plantation that is mentioned in his father's Will. He married Catherine Stone of Charles County, Maryland.[1]

He had at least 1 son, "Alexander Scott" (as per the Will)

Research Notes

I have seen abstracts of Robert's will in a few places, including this site. One other place was Early Colonial Settlers of Southern Maryland and Northern Virgnia (David Stone) and (Robert Scott) which is a pretty comprehensive database, reliability unknown to me. Within the same profile, I see the information about Robert's death 1782/83 AND an abstract of Uncle Frederick's will probated 12 Jun 1773, directing brother Thomas to pay sister Catherine Scott 2% of the profits annually during her widowhood.

Uncle Thomas leaves another will continuing Catherine's stipend because "Ally" is still underage -- in 1787. Offered to help calculate his year of birth.

Death

Died prior to Aug 22, 1782, as he was named in the Will by "Deceased".... Date of death is taken from the Will of his father........
