His will names one son, Drury, and one grandson, Finch. His wife is not named.

The father of Finch, a grandson of Thomas, is not known.

In the name of God amen I Thomas Scruggs of the County of Cumberland being weak in body but of perfect sence and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following Vizt. I lend to my beloved wife during her natural life or widowhood three feather beds and furniture one dark bay mare six head cattle six hogs and all the rest of my household furniture my desire is that at the decease or marriage of my wife my son Drury Scrugs shall possess the whole of the above articles which I have lent to my wife except one feather bed and furniture which I gave to my grandson Finch Scrugs as to me other children I have given them their potion al-ready I appoint my beloved wife and son Drury Scrugs Executors of this my last will and testament.

Lends to wife for her lifetime or widowhood, 3 feather beds and furniture, one mare, various livestock, rest of household furniture, etc. At the decease or marriage of his wife, his son Drury Scruggs shall posess the whole of the above, except for one feather bed & furniture to grandson Finch Scruggs. As to other children, he has given the their portions already. Witnesses: William Anderson, Thomas Scruggs, Obedier Scruggs. proved 27 Oct 1788.

The will identifies one child: Drury.

His wives are reported to be : Elizabeth ( rumor has it that the maiden name is Mitchell); and "juday Buford". Neither is documented,

The mother of his asserted children is not documented.

Drury is identified as a child; the others are inferred or implied.
