Biography

Experience Scudder was born April 28, 1692, the daughter of John Scudder and Elizabeth Hamelin[1][2] [3]

On October 9, 1712, she married Elisha Hopkins, the son of Joshua Hopkins and Mary Collier (Cole) Hopkins[4] [3] [5], and their children included:

  1. John, born April 29, 1719[5], who married Rebecca Nickerson
  2. Elisha, who married Hannah Wing[5]
  3. Barzillai, who married Lydia Eldredge[5]
  4. Elizabeth, who married Benjamin Godfrey and Nathaniel Tobey[5]
  5. Mary, born March 12, 1726, who married Cornelius Knowles[5]
  6. Experience, who married Joseph Wing[5]

Elisha died February 1, 1741. On October 19, 1743, Experience married Reverend Samuel Osborne in Boston, Massachusetts[6]
