Biography

James was the son of Henry Daniel Seay and Amanda "Mandy" Kimbrell (Demsel) Seay. James was named after Colonel James Pender. His father was a bugle boy in the Civil War. He and his siblings were raised by his aunt & uncle, Alfred Seay and Jane Bishop Kimbrell Seay after his mother died in childbirth.
