The following is from the notes of S.Grimes part of the Self/Selfe/Selph Family Researcher. Phillip. August 8, 1736:

John Lamkin witnesses deed between Thomas Smith and James Bailey, both of Cople Parish; for 4000 pounds of tobacco, fifty acres is sold to James Bailey; wit: John Lamkin, Philip X Self, James Thomas, Jr., Thos. Smith; August 6, 1736, the deed is transferred to Bailey. On the next day, the deal is finalized and the same witnesses sign it.
