Willis Simpson Selman was born on January 26, 1870 in Jewett, Leon, Texas, United States, son of Willis Evans Selman (1842–1931) and Martha Jane Simpson (1845–1891).[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

His siblings were:

  2. Arthur Lee Selman (1874-1901)
  3. Horace Selman (1877-1933)
  4. Manila Isabella (Selman) Shepard (1879-1959)
  5. Anna Eliza (Selman) Langley (1883-1964)

Willis (19) married Louisa Needham (19) (born December 25, 1870 in McNairy, Tennessee, United States; daughter of David Weaver Needham (1845–1928) and Mary Adeline (Sanders) Needham (abt. 1846–1927)) on January 12, 1890 in Freestone, Texas.[6] Their children were:

In 1900, Willie S (30) was living in Justice Precinct 4 Jewett town, Leon, Texas. [5]

Willis died on August 12, 1901 in Jewett, aged 31. He was buried in Sardis Cemetery.[7]
