Biography

Thomas was born in 1842, son of Thomas Shannon and Maria or Mariah Thompson.

Along with his older brother Samuel, he enlisted to fight with the 16th Ohio Infantry in the Civil War and died from wounds received at the Battle of Vicksburg in the Regimental Hospital, Paducah, Kentucky. He died from a shot in the left lung.[1]
