Anne^[1] was born in 1751, probably in York County, Pennsylvania, the fifth of nine known children and the third of five daughters of John Sharp and Jane Hamilton.

On 9 November 1769, when she was about eighteen, she and Alexander Laughlin were married in Hanover, York County by the Rev. John Casper Stoever.

She died of unknown causes at an unknown date and place.
