John was born in 1871 in SC. Married in 1892 in Alabama. 1900 census. living in Coldwater next to father-in-law, Thomas C Roszell.[1] 19 Apr 1910 Census, Coldwater, Calhoun , Alabama ,Farmer/ renting, married 17 years, 6 children, Taylor Chapel & Coldwater area. J R SHARP, Head, 44. SC. parents SC.Minnie, wife, 34.Floyd, Sam, Katie, Sallie,9, James,6, Fannie,2.[2] 1920 census identifies farm in Burns Crossroads, Calhoun county.[3] 1930 census , Farmer/ renting. Son Jim Sharp and his wife(Mamie Phillips) living with them. Eastaboga Highway. Married at age 25. Census gives his middle name. ROBERT SHARP, Head,58, SC. Minnie, 54, Calvin Taylor, 17, broader[4]Died in Alabama in 1946.[5]

Informant was his oldest son Floyd W Sharp. 1900 census tells us on 6 Jun 1900 living in Coldwater, Calhoun Co, Alabama next to father-in-law Thomas C Roszell. Farmer/ renting farm. Married 8 yrs. JOHN R SHARP, , July 1872, 27, born SC, parents SC. Can read/write. Minnie L, wife, July 1875, 24, Al., and 3 children : Floyd W, Jan 1892, 7, Samuel E., Jan 1895, 5 & Katie M, Jan 1897. 1910 census gives good family information.

Parents (John Sharp and Margaret Frances McKee-Herron with her two children from previous marriage) moved from SC to Alabama after John Robert's birth in South Carolina in 1871.
