Peter Sharp was born in about 1789 in Mason, Kentucky. He was the son of Solomon Sharp and his first wife, Rachel Masters. He was the eldist of 8 children.
Folk lore has it that Peter was somewhat disowned because of his inappropriate behavior. Peter was left out of Solomon's will because he was the black sheep of the family.
Solomon had given him a large sum of money ($200 surety) in 1830 to get him out of a paternity suit. He soon took off as soon as the court case was settled. The mother and child went to live elsewhere in Ohio.
It is unkown when and where he died.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Peter by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Peter:
I have just discovered Gary Sharp's notes on Peter Sharp and Elizabeth Antrim, and am very intrigued as Elizabeth is my 4th great-grandmother. William Antrim who married Sarah Sharp, and Aden Antrim who married Mary Sharp were sons of Godfrey Antrim. Godfrey did not have a daughter named Elizabeth (and she would have been too old to have a child with Peter, as all Godfrey's children were born before 1798 when he died).
It is more likely that the Elizabeth Antrim who had an illegitimate son by Peter Sharp was the daughter of Robert Levi Antrim, brother to William and Aden. She was born about 1813, making her approximately 16 at the birth of her son John Antrim. John was brought up in the household of his grandparents. Whether he knew of his real parentage is impossible to know. He and his brother [cousin] Robert Jr. both moved to Fremont, Iowa.
William (b. 1790) may be the second son of Solomon. Some records indicate that Peter was born first (1787? 1788?); others, that he was born last (1809, corroborated by the Bastardy court case heard in 1829, when he was 20). Perhaps there were two successive Peters, first and last children of this marriage. Vital records required to corroborate this information. Peter had a son out of wedlock with Elizabeth Antrim, the sister of his brothers-in-law. The baby was named John Antrim, and never took the Sharp name. Baby John was raised and lived a good life in IA. His headstone reads John Antrim. See original family research by Gary Sharp: https://www.bookemon.com/flipread/262475#book/99
