Three Injured when House is Wrecked in Explosion
Winchester Ky., April 29 ? Mrs. Don Gravitt, her 11-year-old son, John Gravitt, and her son-in-law, Thomas Jewell, were seriously injured tonight when their home on the Muddy Creek pike, was partly destroyed by an explosion. They were brought to the local hospital.
The explosion was caused when John Gravitt dropped a lighted match in a two gallon can containing powder, which was on the porch when the Gravitt family moved there.
The clothing of the victims was practically burned off. The house was ignited, but the flames were subdued. The porch and from of the house were wrecked by the explosion.

Thomas Jewell and his small brother-in-law, John Gravitt, who were seriously injured in a power explosion which caused the death of Mrs. I.D. Gravitt, were reported today to be somewhat improved, with a fair chance for recovery.
The accident was caused when Jewell placed a match to a small bit of powder from the contents of an old can, the flash causing the explosion of powder in the can. Mrs. Gravitt's funeral will be held Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at Allansville.
