Biography

William was born in 1798 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. His date of birth is recorded in the family Bible record and this was included as evidence for the pension application for his mother as a widow of a Revolutionary War pensioner in 1837. He moved to Chambers County, Alabama and is listed there with his family on the census in 1860.
