Biography

Bertha was born 6 July,1914. in Staffordshire, England. She was the first daughter of Jeff Sherwood and Elizabeth Clayton. She was a lovely lady, very classy, and always was lovely with children. She sewed beautifully. Bertha and her husband lived on the ground floor of a three floor high flatt. It was also an end unit, so it was very nice. This worked well for her when arthritus got ahold of her knees. When I was a small girl, she would sew me and my Barbies matching outfits. She passed away in August 1994, from flesh eating disease. She was so strong and so very brave. She never complained once.
