Pullen Excursus Nancy A. Preston, born 1810 in Sumner County, Tennessee, died September 23, 1860, in Giles County, Tennessee, married Lewis Conner. She was the daughter of Thomas Preston (ca1780-1818) and his wife Lydia Pullen, married March 7, 1800 in Bedford county, Va. Thomas was the son of Thomas Preston Sr., Patriot, who died in 1791, and the grandson of Philip Preston, Patriot, born ca 1715, died 1775 in Bedford County, Virginia. The proven descent of Lydia Pullen is from Henry Pullen, whose records are found in Will Book 8 , p. 79, Lancaster Co., Va., wills 1653-1800. His inventory was dated May 31, 1698 and recorded July 30, 1698 was presented by his widow, Mary (Stott) Pullen, daughter of Brian Stott Sr. and Mary Shipp, daughter of William Shipp. The will of Brian Stott Sr. was recorded 15 March 1704/5 (Will book 8 , p. 119, Lancaster County) and names sons James, Brian, and John Stott; daughters Mary Pullen and Ann Potts; son-in-law John Potts; daughter-in-law Mary Stott. Mary Stott Pullen's husband was dead and not named. Mary Stott Pullen married as her second husband prior to 1714, William Rogers. (Note: She was named as Mary Pullen in 1704, the probate date of her father's will.) p. 7 The will of Mary Rogers of St. Mary's , Whitechapel was dated Sep. 8, 1731 (W. book 12 p. 206 Lancaster Co.) and names her sons Thomas, John, William and Brian Pullen; daughter Frances Blackrobe (Blackerby), and granddaugter Mary Eachinson.
