Research Notes

Work is ongoing to untangle the person from other men of the same name.

There were four George Simons born around 1806 in the same part of Virginia (now West VIrginia):

  1. It appears that one was the George Simon, son of Christian Simons and Barbara Rohrbough. Possibly married Celia Reger. Possibly died in Missouri or WV[3]
  2. Another, George Michael Simons, was the son of Jacob Simon and Mary Wimer. Possibly married Barbara Elizabeth Foy. Died in WV.[4]
  3. Another, George Simons, was the son of Benjamin Jacob Simons and Sally Stump. Possibly died in 1894 in WV. [5]
  4. Another, George Johannes Simon, was the son of Johannes Jacob Simon and Catherine Lutz Schmidt. Possibly married Anna Margaretha Sheets. Possibly died in Hardy, WV[6]
