Biography

Andrew Simonton was born about 1710 the son of Andrew and Ann (Douglas) Simonton. He died 8 February 1794 in Portland, Cumberland, ME. He married twice, first Elizabeth COBB 30 November 1730 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, ME.[6] Elizabeth was born 8 October 1712 in Middleborough, Plymouth, MA.[7] She was the daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth (VAUGHAN) COBB. He married second Sarah Ann ARMSTRONG 27 December 1754 in Falmouth, Cumberland, ME.[8] Ann was born 12 Jul 1738 and died 1802 in Cape Elizabeth, Cumberland, ME.[9]

See note on Simonton-3. Simonton-9 Marked unmerged match on Mar 18th. There is too much conflicting information. Simonton-9 and Simonton-3 are not ready to be merged because: The merge was rejected before because: birth about 70 years off, different spouses, different mothers, death dates.)

Simonton-9 birth was changed from 1780 to 1714. No sources provided for changing the date. Mother Jane Maxwell listed birth date is 1752.. She can’t be Andrews mother if she was born in 1752 The father Ebenezer was born 1749. More research is needed.
