George was born about 1715. [2]

Early Colonial Settlers gives George's birth as 1718, in Fairfax county, Virginia. [3]

Find A Grave gives George's birth as 1727, in Fairfax county, Virginia: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/225676255/george-richard-simpson

This family history site: https://simpsonhistory.com/georgesr gives George's birth as 1729, in Fairfax county, Virginia

All of the family trees indicate that George is the son of Richard Simpson, Sr. and his wife, Sarah (?nee? Barker. And the three sites appear to agree on the fact that George died November 18, 1782, in Fairfax county, Virginia. George wrote his Will on October 4, 1782 and it was probated November 18, 1782: "Wife: Susan. Children: William, Aaron, George, James, Joseph, Richard and Mary. (Mention is made of 4 younger children, uncertain whether they are included in above list.) Exrs: Moses R. Simpson (brother) and Aaron Simpson (son). Wit: Richard Wheeler, John Simpson and James Aldridge."

In 1744, George married Susannah Wheeler. Her Find A Grave memorial states:

  • SUSANNAH WHEELER SIMPSON, died sometime after 1787, probably in the Fairfax area. [Maybe as late as 1820!] In 1787, she was listed on the tax rolls in Fairfax as owning three slaves over 16 years old, and two under age 16, three horses, and 13-head of cattle. All her sons, and many of her grandsons, owned from two to eight slaves per household. From reading her husband's will, and the fact that his estate was not fully settled until after 1820, it leads one to conclude that SUSANNAH may not have died until nearly 1820. If this date is correct for her death, she would have been nearly 100 years old! [4]

George was born about 1727. He passed away about 1782. [5]
