Biography

George Sinclair, II was born in 1789, in Prince William County, Virginia, a son of George Sinclair and Martha Palmer. He passed away in 1850.

On August 20, 1818, in Columbiana, Ohio, George Sinclair, II, married Elisabeth Wildman. [1] Elisabeth may have died in the first years of their marriage and there are no known children born to this marriage.

On September 20, 1821, in Columbiana, Ohio, George married "Prislla" [Priscilla] Milner. [2] Priscilla's maiden name was Gilbert. She was born in 1788, in Virginia, the daughter of Joseph Gilbert and Anne Marsh. She married, first, Isaac Milner, on December 12, 1811, in Columbiana County, Ohio. [3] Children of George and Priscilla include:

  • Jesse Sinclair, born 1823, died 1908, [4] married Miriam Combs, daughter of John Combs and Anna Meade Milner [5]
  • Rhoda Sinclair, born January 17, 1826, died July 25, 1893, [6] married Joseph French [7]
  • Ruth Sinclair, born August 21, 1834, died March 31, 1876, married James Patton [8]

George is found on the United States Census of 1830, residing in Fairfield, Highland County, Ohio. [9] George Sinclair was not living at the time of the United States Census of 1850, but appears on the Mortality Schedule for that year. This record indicates that George was a farmer, who was born in Virginia, and who died in February, 1850, in Highland County, Ohio. [10]

Further research should be completed on George St CLAIR (1800-1850) before merging the two profiles. It is possible that the death location may be incorrect on St CLAIR-888.

Since it is stated in the profile of George St_CLAIR-888 that he is the son of Arthur St. Clair and Frances Stall, not Wayman Sinclair and Mary Watts, I feel that the location is incorrect, not the parents. There is no mention of the United States Census (Mortality Schedule) as a source on St CLAIR-888. The profile only has secondary sources, not original/primary sources.
