Biography

This profile is part of the Skaggs Name Study.
W. T., better known as Bluehead, was born in 1797, the son of Jeremiah Skaggs and Rebecca Mayes, and passed away in 1860.
A bond was signed on 16 Jun 1817 for William Skaggs and Mary Harrison to marry.[1] They married on 19 Jun 1817 in Warren County, Kentucky. [2]

He used W. T. during his lifetime. Not sure who erected the tombstone, but they probably modeled it after the son's name, assuming he was a "Jr. This is a common fallacy today in online trees, resulting in middle names the person never used.

Are we sure his middle name was Thomas? His tombstone says William H just like his son.
